Law students from Dewan Law College recently visited the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, where they were able to interact with officers from the Cyber Cell, Local Intelligence Unit, Women Helpline Cell, PPK, and Shikayat Prakosht. This gave them a chance to learn about the practical legal procedures related to filing complaints and getting them resolved.
The students were also exposed to the complexities of the Police Act, 1861, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 during their meeting with the higher-ranking officers from the SSP, SP, and CO. The visit was well-received by the police officers, and Rural SP Mr. Anirudh commented positively on the fact that it was the first time a law college from Meerut District had engaged in such an endeavour to gain legal knowledge with the help of the police system.
