World Cancer Day

On 4 February 2026, on the occasion of World Cancer Day, an awareness event was organised by Dewan Law College in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Meerut. The event was efficiently managed by the students of the Moot Court Association.

The programme was hosted by Angel Malik, who conducted the proceedings smoothly. Senior Defence Aid Legal Counsel Mr Amber Saharan presided over the event and addressed the gathering on the objectives and relevance of the PCPNDT Act in India. He explained that under the Act, registration of doctors’ clinics is mandatory, and failure to comply attracts a penalty of 5 lakh along with imprisonment of up to five years.

Mr Saharan also threw light on the various causes and types of cancer prevalent in India, emphasising the importance of a balanced diet and proper vaccination as preventive measures. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Shashank Misra, marking the successful completion of the programme.
